I first heard about CrossFit in 2012 during my tour overseas, as I was getting ready to transition
to civilian life back home I was eager to jump in and find out what the “hype” was all about. I
immediately found a box back in NJ and was hooked. After I stopped playing sports in college I
decided to join the military, CrossFit has then filled in the gaps throughout my athletic career.
Once recovered from a shoulder injury I decided to spend my time and focus on the Olympic
lifts and trained one on one with a coach in Fairleigh Dickinson University. As time went on
there was something missing, I craved the metabolic conditioning aspect of CrossFit. I decided
my traditional gym days were over. I moved to Florida at the end of 2015 and joined an
amazing CrossFit facility in the Keys, the community there was EVERYTHING. Being involved
with sports from a young age, I’ve always had a propensity for sharing fitness tips with others.
From advising soldiers in my unit on how to increase their APFT score to helping my clients
reach their goals throughout my personal training career, I’ve always found helping others
towards a healthier lifestyle incredibly rewarding. As a coach at CrossFit East Hanover I’m able
to do what I’m most passionate about, it’s a humbling experience to witness someone get
excited about their progress knowing I played a small role in their success.
